Legal Reforms & Research

Operation Nyaya

In India, crimes against children and women have been steadily increasing for the last few years. Over the last 10 years, crimes against children has increased 5 times. There are still more than 166000 cases of POCSO are pending in different states across the country, which may take more than 50 years to settle. Secondly, woman is the key of a family. World can never be complete without a woman. Law is the set of rules enforced to govern the behavior of people. From the beginning of this world women are treated as a weaker section of the society and they are the victims of the crimes like rape, eve teasing, female infanticide, dowry, domestic violence, child marriage and acid throwing etc. They were only allowed to live beneath the shoes of their husbands and fathers. Laws are being made to secure the lives of the women from the violence of their families and societies, and to provide them with their rights of which they are the owners. But this is not enough.

Criminals take the advantages of the weakness, poverty and ignorance of the people and continue to commit crimes without any fear. Due to which the graph of crime in our country is increasing rapidly. Our country’s judiciary is very strong and reliable. But it is also very flexible and expensive, which does not benefit the needy.

While we believe in constitutional provisions to enforce the fundamental rights of children, we also advocate new laws and amendments to existing ones whenever gaps are found in legislation and governance.

Operation Nyaya

Our Foundation also works to provide free legal aid to all such poor people.  Hundreds of people have taken advantage of it.

Apart from this, our organization is also working for research from time to time. Volunteers of our survey team also do research work from time to time through several surveys etc. Which also helps us a lot in planning our future strategy. From trainings, workshops, consultations and lectures at various platforms, to preparing learning material for manuals and stand operating procedures, we work to create the best and an all-encompassing learning and developing environment for child protection and women Empowerment.

Child Missing

Countless number of children go missing every year. Every day, around 150 children go missing in India – kidnapping and abduction is the largest crime against children in our country (National Crime Record Bureau 2016). The category of missing children includes a number of possible reasons such as abduction or kidnapping of children by family members and by non-family members, run-away children or those forced to run away by family and surrounding circumstances, children who are in a difficult or aggressive environment, trafficked children or lost children. Missing children often end up on the streets in poverty.
